Biography

Ann Gilbert, MA, PGCE, CELTA
was born in England. She studied languages and history of art
at the University of St Andrews, Scotland and education at the University of London Institute of Education. After graduating, she worked as a researcher in Moscow and St Petersburg, returning to London as a writer (see Bibliography section).
She is a member of the Society of Authors, the International Association of Art Critics and the Great Britain-Russia Centre.


Ann has taught languages in UK, Switzerland and Russia.
She has also lectured in art museums and has curated
a number of art and cultural exhibitions in London, Aldeburgh
and Tokyo.
She lives in Chelsea, London
with her husband, painter Dennis Gilbert.
They both work at home in their two studios
in a house designed during the Arts & Crafts
period (see pictures).
